Hes being unfair to a point. Theres nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself with a diet. BUT!!!.. if the diet your doing is starving yourself then it is completely wrong. From what i see though you have a good diet plan. Where I'd side with him is that I like every other guy, have a sense of accomplishment and pride when we do something thats out of the ordinary to win your aproval (IE the bread). Its a primal thing. Of course we should learn our children about the evolution theory. It is their history. I told my child a few weeks ago about the evolution theory, and when she told her teacher about it he simply replied "that is not true" I'm sick of having these teachers telling my child what to believe. If my child is old enough she will make her own choice. We don't need teachers to do that for her. How dare they to even think that they are allowed to do this. They miss use their position. I will tell my child about religion and about the evolution theory. And she will decide when she is ready. So the schools either should teach both (Religion and Evolution) or neither. Me and my dad got into a big arguement. I am 14 years old and my dad treats me like a little girl. i feel strangled .......my bestfriend who ive known for 7 years(half my life) lives 3 blocks away. she sleeps over all the time but i cant sleepover there cause she has two older brothers(19 and 20) and that is my fathers "reason" why i cant sleepover there. Just about as much as I think about the threats from Caborn and now Alexander to stop working people from standing up for their rights and the contracts they signed when they were employed. There is fault here on both sides and those faults are fed and led by the politicians and politically minded union barons. All of whom have protected salaries and final salary pensions secured for life. We only bailed out the MP's pensions shortfall just after the last election and the vote in the commons was a 100% for that and the rule was led by Cameron, Clegg and Miliband. The union barons pensions were increased twice last year and all of them chased after getting that for themselves as well. Sort of double standards there wouldn't you reckon from both sides. That is if you don't take into consideration the working people and a hell of a lot of those in the public sector you are talking about are on minimum wage. You know the ones we call blue collar workers that are the ones going to be made redundant or have wages cut and pay frozen. Those are the ones I support. I'm 17, and a male. I usually feel sick in the morning, mainly after or during breakfast, and it usually goes away a while before lunch around 12:30. Transition to Bipedalism?

I'm an anthropology student interested in primate and human paleontology, and non-human primate behaviour and ecology. But, I don't know much about it yet. I've only finished my first year anthropology and biology courses. But I've noticed that the great apes today both have the ability to walk some-what up right if they so chose, but also walk on all fours. Chimps regularly stand up and walk, but move about on all fours to move quickly (probably, I think, because they aren't quite at home on just two feet, so more physically strenuous activities like running need to be done on all fours). I'm wondering if bipedalism came about more gradually, the first bipedal apes being more like modern great apes, having both quadrupedal and bipedal behaviours. I have a hard time understanding how bipedalism could have come about quickly, unless it came about by mutation. But my professors have discussed how it was something selected for, perhaps for the purposes of being able to carry objects, or for the purpose of being able to converse energy, as it requires less to walk on two feet than four, or perhaps for less exposure to sun on the hot African savanna. I have this gut feeling that it came about as a slower transition, the first bipedal apes also having the ability to walk on all fours. And as selection became stronger, for whatever reasons the environment imposed on African apes (~3.6-4mya?) quadrupedalism was selected against in what would become the human line. I want to have an understanding of why it is our line diverged in motor behaviour from quadruped to biped.

The impression I got, both from reading the news article at the link you provided, and also from personally recognizing that the woman is usually the one who takes time off to care for the kids who might be ill, is that if their sick-day record were adjusted to not include the sick days for the kids, the numbers might balance out, or possibly be even better than those of men. This possibly because I think that women visit doctors more often and are (as a result) probably healthier in general as a result of this attention to their health. But I know this is based mostly gut feelings and hear say, and not very scientific. So who knows really. I think it curious that employers haven't set up the numbers to include information about which days off were due to personal illness and which ones were for illness of the children. But then, maybe some employers do that, but the writer of the news article didn't look into that.

Help me, I don't see results yet with my diet or is it to early to tell ?

So for two and half weeks I have been working out for an 1 hr a day 30 mins. of cardio which really works my legs & 30 mins. of yoga everyday except for two days so far. I don't eat any fattening food so no fried food, fast food, desserts, soda, or any thing like that. The worst thing I have ate is probably honey nut cheerios or non fat frozen yogurt with nuts and berries. Everyday I drink a 3 cups of green tea. For breakfeast I have ethier: cereal, oatmeal, eggwhites, or veggies or fruit. Snacks: water, rye crackers, or fruits,veggies. Lunch: water with veggies of fruit. Dinner: Veggies with ethier chicken, fish, or a veggies burger patti, and water. Snacks:fruit or veggies with water. I drink about 100-150 oz. of water day. What am I doing wrong ? Should I eat less ? What can I approve or change ? Am I freaking about nothing or is it to soon to see results ?

Becoming a paleontologist?

Currently, I'm an honours anthropology student, and I've always been fascinated by paleo since I was a child. Dinosaurs, the Permian mammal-like reptiles, and the woolies of the upper Cenozoic, those three broad groups always fascinated me. And of course, human evolution. I'm extremely fascinated by primate paleontology and behavioural ecology, subjects that I am enrolled in for this up-coming year. My original goal was to pursue paleoanthropological research for my Master's and Doctoral research after completing my undergraduate degree, but the more and more I study paleoanthropology, the more I want to study just paleontology in general. But making the jump from the social science faculty to the natural science faculty is not an easy thing to do, and its pretty much set up to be that way. I have been thinking about dropping down from honours specialization in anthropology to a major in biological anthropology, and taking on a major in geology as well. My institution offers a "Major in Earth and Planetary Sciences" which requires you to take an arsenal of core courses: plate tectonics, environments, and products; structural geology; crystallography and optics; stratigraphy and sedimentology; paleobiology and paleoecology; 11 day summer field course; a course on petrology, and then several electives. If I took a double major in biological anthropology and earth and planetary sciences, would I be eligible to apply to the geology department to take a M.Sc in geology? Ultimately, I will probably end up just doing primate paleontology, but I want a broad paleontology background, so that if I want to take up research on another taxonomic group I can do so. I don't like the fact that anthropology limits one to studying the primate/prosimian group.

How do I make a proper American style beef burger?

The tastiest way to cook burgers is on the BBQ, but pan frying works well too. For each burger, use 6-8 oz. of ground beef. The best burgers do contain some fat, so try to purchase chopped/minced beef that is 75-80% lean. One pound of meat is 16 oz. so just divide it in half for large 8 oz. burgers and in thirds for smaller burgers which will be just shy of 6 oz. Shape the meat into patties. Season each side of the patty with salt, preferably Kosher or sea salt and black pepper. Place the patties in a hot skillet, reduce heat to medium high, leave them there until they can easily be turned without sticking to the pan. Cook on the other side for about three minutes. If using a BBQ, cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side depending on the thickness of the patties. Always allow the patties to rest for a minute or two to distribute the juices. Serve on hamburger buns or rolls with lettuce, sliced tomato and sliced onion, or not. Weight issues? Unable to lose?

Since I was 13, I've always had issues. Before that, I was extremely skinny, literally like a twig. At 12-13, however, I ballooned... To a respectable 240 pounds. Since then, even though I am an active person, my weight drifts from 215-200. Regardless if I watch what I eat. I do not drink pop every day, mainly water, I have for years. Junk food is an uncommon occerance. I work at a golf course where I am constantly on my feet, raking, weed whacking, running when I can too and fro jobs. I eat 2-3 meals a day, toast or something quick in the morning (5:30 am) a larger meal of usually small chocolate for a quick boost of energy, maybe a burger or two, and iced tea (10am) and then a snack at 4am. I sleep at 7 pm. I am 5'11 1/2, I have been to my doctor plenty of times and he has no clue what is wrong with me. I get aches and pains too, and i can list medical problems if needed. I just want to be 170, like I should be.

I don't get it. I live in central florida, and I've been to several steak 'n shakes. Every one of them had mediocre to bad service. The waiters/waitresses wouldn't seat you for like 5 minutes or more even when there are booths/tables open. They are too busy running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Outside of my window there is a nice garden and then after the garden there is a bench with a plaque on it but I can’t read what it says all the way from my window. After the bench with the plaque on it, there is a very, very, very big fence. There are tall telegraph poles all along it to hold it up. At the top, it curves inward and then there is a heap of barbed wire bales that looks very sharp. After the fence there is a lot of hard ground. In the distance on the hard ground there are a lot of little huts and small buildings scattered around the place. There are smoke stacks and soldiers at the huts and small buildings. The soldiers don’t do much except order a heap of people around. The people that I can see that aren’t soldiers are wearing striped pajamas and cloth caps. There are children on the other side of the fence except they don’t look like the sort of children I would want to play with.

what you describe as a relationship is not the case in the traditional sense with men who behave like that. Very often the man has had abuse or trauma or even deglect at the hands of a woman and the pattern becomes one of punishment triggering violence as the man is incapable of recognising 'normal' behaviours. i need help. my whole life, our family has joked about having a family curse. we are good natured and good hearted people that help others. it has been our experience that to be such kind people we suffer so much in life. illnesses, financial issues, love issues. i have always known that my grandfather was native american, you can see it in the photos. dark skin, dark hair 100% Cherokee. my sister tried to do a family tree but is unable to trace our lineage beyond our grandfather. my sister has said that when she was younger, our mother had a conversation with my grandfather and he told her that because of problems in the tribe and hard times during very racially tenuous times that he thought it would be best for the family to change his name in hopes of finding a job easier. that said, he requested of another Caucasian family to adopt him and his brother and take on their last name. my father refuses to believe that story, but my mother swears that my grandfather swore that he never told anyone especially his children what happened. he was born in the 1880's and times were harder and different then. i see the indian descent in my family members and my father says that he is sure his father was full blooded indian, which confuses me. i guess he doesn't want to believe that our lineage and heritage could be cast aside so haphazardly. i think it is a pride thing. while we still have a last name that stems from a name similar to a tribal name (profession linked, such as blacksmith, or taylor or boatswain) i don't see where it made a difference in helping but perhaps because it was the last name of a prominent and well known Caucasian family it was more easily accepted. my grandfather has long passed and my mother cannot remember what he said his original last name was. my sister and i believe that in doing so, my grandfather upset the spirits and have cast negative energy down the line. all who share his last name have suffered. many family members have committed suicide. in most cases they went from fine to crazed without any indication. the suicides were not telegraphed in any way. all were shocking and sporadic and without warning or justification. houses have burned, illnesses evolved. once my sister married, her luck has changed. her children lead a good life. for instance i have struggled all my life to become something, all that i wanted to do was difficult or unachievable, however, my nephew, who has different last name followed in my footsteps and is like a carbon copy of me. and his life has been an easy road. it is like he is what i should have been and the spirits have blessed him to show their anger. i would go into more detail, but i wish to keep some level of privacy because i don't want to risk losing the job i have now, or be frowned upon at work and thought to be crazy. if any one can offer advice or a solution it would be greatly appreciated. i have played music for disabled kids, given stuffed animals at christmas to sick and terminal children, have helped the homeless and many other charitable acts all done unselfishly and most done while still an innocent child. age 13-19. the homeless man that i made a care package for christmas was never seen again so that i could give it to him. we later learned that he got drunk and fell off the curb and was hit by a car and later died of his wounds. he was a classmate of my uncle. the same uncle was to marry and while his fiance was out shopping for a dress she was hit and killed by a bus. he never dated another woman out of his love for her. too many things are too coincidental to not have merit. but i have no knowledge in what to do to remove this curse or whatever it may be. i am doing this for my entire family and future generations and not as a selfish act. unfortunately the state that maintains records will not release any information about my grandfather. all i know is he is of a north carolina indian tribe and was well respected. but i am sure that once he turned his back on his heritage the tribe turned their back on him. his intentions were good because the tribe was gaining stigma for causing trouble and for being undesirables. he only did what he thought was right for his family and lineage. i am sure that if he knew the consequences he would have done differently. from what i know this is as accurate as i can explain to you in order to get the help i need. and i know that my grandfather was a great and kind man. for example if someone asked how was his wife and kid he would get insulted and ask them to leave saying that you do not disrespect my family. he would say my wife is fine and my children are fine. but i do not have kids. goats have kids. and all of my family that i was able to meet would give the shirts off their backs and never asked help from anyone. i guess other than my grandfather asking for the help at a fair shake on life.

As of now I have changed my major to focus on Zoology. I am planning to graduate with a biology degree/ wildlife biology degree and then obtain a masters/doctorate in Zoology. Ok, so me, my girlfriend of 6 months, my best friend (dude), and possibly 1-3 of my girlfriends best friends are coming over to my house for a 4th of July type small party.
