In the past decade we discovered dozens of primate & bird species in Brazil. So, could we find oil reserves?

In the past decade we discovered dozens of primate and hundreds of bird species in Brazil. Doesn't that mean we could also find oil reserves in the huge amazon land mass? No drillers have been in the innermost regions.
