Does religion devalue the human mind?
The human mind is the only type of mind on this planet that can conceptualize. It enables humans to rise above sharp teeth, strong claws and powerful muscles. The human mind has allowed a bunch of scrawny, hairless primates to rise to the top of the food chain and hunt even the largest creatures ever to have lived on this planet. Yet what does religion do to the human mind? It smothers it with nonsense and gobbledygook about an invisible god and a book of silly stories alleged without evidence to be divine. Religion does to the human mind what water does to a fire. Religion treats the human mind's ability to conceptualize as though it's evil, or "sinful" as religious people call it. So the human mind is a powerful asset but religion devalues it and wants us all to live like sheep, right?
